10 Things You'll Relate To If You're Pale

Hey guys! As you may know, I'm Irish and although it's not always the case ( some of my friends are blessed with glowing, bronzed skin ) we tend to be pretty pale. Sadly I'm not an exception to the rule and I'm as white as a ghost. I don't want to ramble on so without further ado here's 10 things you'll relate to if you're pale!

1. Foundation
If you don't wear make-up you'll probably want to skip this one but to my fellow pale make-up wearers, do you find it as difficult as I do to find a foundation shade that actually matches your skin? Over time I've noticed the majority of "all inclusive" foundation lines don't really cater for us pale folk. If you have any recommendations let me know!

2. Burning
I know most people get sunburn but is it just me who feels like a get a sunburn by just looking at the sun? Every holiday while everyone else is tanning I'm layering on my billionth layer of factor 50!

3. Freckles
On the rare occasion when I don't burn there's no way I'm walking away from an encounter with Mr. Sun without being covered in freckles. This one I actually don't mind because I quite like having freckles. Is that weird? Ah well  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

4 "Are you feeling ok, you look very pale"
I get told this EVERY.SINGLE.DAY by my mam (hi mam if you read this by the way!) but I've even been told this by teachers before. So I'm just going to put out an announcement now, I'M ALWAYS PALE, IT'S NOT BECAUSE I'M SICK!!!!!!

5. Glowing
And by glowing I don't mean in the way of radiating light like a goddess I mean like literally reflecting the sun into peoples eyes. In fact earlier on in the summer, my friends and I were joking that they'd need to bring sunglasses if I was there!

6. Suncream, suncream and more suncream!
I kind of mentioned this in one of the earlier points but oh boy does it deserve its own. I honestly can't imagine the summer without constantly applying and reapplying suncream. Although I gotta have that UV protection so I can't really complain.

7. Yellow looking teeth

So these two aren't mutually exclusive but I feel like if your skin is close to white it's going to make your teeth look less white. I might be completely wrong about this but I've always had a theory about it.

8. Wearing white
I tend to avoid wearing white at all costs because when I do it tends to be difficult to distinguish between the clothes and me! I do, of course, wear it sometimes though.

9.  Disappearing face
You're probably wondering what on earth this means, well when I take a selfie facing direct sunshine my face disappears. *POOF* gone! It's hard to explain but let me just say, I usually turn out like this... (excuse my drawing skills, or should I say lack thereof)

10. Blushing at everything both under and including the sun!
Be it exercising, embarrassment or just slight heat my cheeks end up the same shade as a fire extinguisher for some reason, don't ask me why I haven't a clue! But " are you ok, you're looking very flushed " is probably one of the phrases I hear on a regular basis as well.

So there we have it! 10 things you'll relate to if you're pale. I hope you enjoyed and would love to know if you found these relatable. Of course pale skin is still beautiful ( I mean look at Elle Fanning, Amanda Seyfried and Emma Stone) and this post was not at all meant to pale shame in any way, I just wanted to share some of the troubles of being pale. Also I know some of the text in this post was a weird size but I can't seem to fix it.  Don't forget, if you enjoyed you can follow my blog, subscribe by email, follow my socials or all of the above! Thank you so so so so so so so much for reading!

  2. I'm pale and completely feel your pain! I remember going on holiday to Cyprus with my Dad and Nan when I was young and Nan used to smother me in factor 50 every hour like seriously I used to joke that I came home paler than I went because of how much cream she put on me but I always burn on holiday now so I think I need to listen to my nan! Foundation recommendations: Maybelline 24hr Superstay in 03 True Ivory, Rimmel Match Perfection do a super pale one I think it's called Fair Porcelain and L'oreal True Match/Infalliable are quite pale too!

  4. This is honestly so relatable! I hate suncream but I have to wear factor 50 all the time and I’m forever wishing I could wear all the pretty white dresses from Zara like everyone else but it looks so bad on me!

  6. Oh my goodness I can relate to every single one of these ahha! Foundation wish I've been using Korean foundation cushions for the last year or so and find they suit my skin better than western formulas, think it might be the fact it contains SPF 50, but I just thought I would mention it ^^

  9. I feel your pain with all of these. Wearing white is a nightmare and if you wear fake tan and then wear white it's no better you just end up with stained clothes!

  10. I literally 'get' all of these! People don't realise as I have darkish hair but I am so pale and fair. I don't get freckles though unfortunately!
