This book follows the main character, Audrey, who starts a new job at a local cinema. Ever since her dad left her and her mother for another woman and her boyfriend left her for another girl, Audrey has sworn off everything to do with romance. She's sick of how perfect life seems for characters in the movies and how everyone believes a life like that is possible. That is, until she meets Harry, a total player who works in the cinema with her. Over time Harry and Audrey bond over cinema shifts and making zombie movies and eventually Audrey wonders if a picture perfect romance could be possible for her.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I found Audrey really interesting character to read about since her character really developed over the course of the novel. The overall book really kept me interested, especially watching the relationship between Audrey and Harry grow since we know about Audrey's dislike for romance. I found Harry to be a bit of a cliché since so many YA books have very similar characters but I still found him interesting as I found he was quite a likeable character.

Overall I definitely thought this book was a good read. I found it different from a lot of YA fiction in a good way as the characters have such contrasting opinions on romance. I'm giving it 4/5 stars because I found it a really enjoyable read and I hope you'll enjoy it too.

Let me know if you enjoyed the book in the comments. Thanks for reading!

  1. Great review! This is one of my favourite Holly Bourne books. I adore the characters, and I love that it doesn't have the conventional teen romance ending. ☺️
